Opera Festival Santa Fe – August 1-9, 2015

This action-packed trip was organized for the Opera League of Los Angeles.

Saturday-Sunday, August 1-2: Well-traveled Opera Leaguers arrive at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe.

Sunday, August 2, 4:30pm: We meet in the hotel lobby for a welcome reception.

Monday, August 3, 10:00am: We take a sightseeing bus tour through town with Kay Barber, our premier Santa Fe guide.

11:00am: Kay Barber takes us on a walking tour of Santa Fe that includes the house where staff was hired for the Los Alamos lab.

Noon: On your own…

5:30pm: Light dinner

6:15pm: Private bus transfer to the opera house

7:00pm: Pre-performance lecture

8:00pm: The Daughter of the Regiment.

Thursday, August 6, 10:00am: Fellow Opera Leaguer Ed Lieb delivers a lecture called “Motives in Salome.”

Saturday, August 8, 10:30am-1:30pm: Trip to the famous Shidoni Sculpture Gardens, one of the greatest resources available for art collection and sculptures, about five miles north of Santa Fe. We experience bronze pouring and watch the sculpting process. Continue through the countryside to the Four Seasons for a light lunch. The price includes the bus ride, the tour at the gardens, the bronze pouring, the tips and surcharges, and the lunch buffet at the Four Seasons.

2:45pm: Return to the hotel
