Anja Morgenstern

Anja Morgenstern, born in Leipzig, studied Musicology, Italian studies and Journalism at the Leipzig University and in Bergamo (Italy). In 2003 she received her PhD in Musicology at the University of Leipzig. From 2001 anja-morgensternto 2007 she worked there as research assistant at the Letter’s Edition of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.

In 2007 she became member of the research staff of the Digital Mozart-Edition at the Mozart Foundation Salzburg, where she is responsable for the Online Edition of letters and documents of the Mozart family.

Anja Morgenstern started playing violin at the age of 6. From 1990 to 2007 she was concertmaster at the Academic Orchestra Leipzig, and currently holds this position since 2008 at the University Orchestra of Salzburg.
