Santa Barbara Opera Trip  – L’elisir d’amore – March 6, 2016

8:30am: We meet in the lobby of Union Station near the people movers.

8:45am: We hop on the people movers (electric cars) that take us up to the train platform. We board the train in the business class section and look forward to the incomparable ocean views to come. Be sure to have your ticket and ID at the ready.

9:10am: Train departs for Santa Barbara. The perks of business class include complimentary coffee, tea, apple juic, water, pastries, and a newspaper.

11:45am: We arrive at Santa Barbara where a private buss is waiting to transport us to the restaurant La Arcada Bistro.

12:00pm: We convene for a two-course luncheon at La Arcada Bistro. Wine, water, and soft drinks are included.

1:45pm: We kick back at the Granada Theatre for the pre-performance lecture. The theater is only a block from La Arcada Bistro.

2:30pm: The curtain rises for the matinee performance of Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore.

5:20pm: We head back to the La Arcada Bistro for post-show coffee and treats.

6:30pm: We board the private bus to the train station. If you’re a walker, it’s about a fifteen-minute walk down State Street. Just let us know you’re going to huff it so we’re not waiting around for you.

6:59pm: We hop on business class for the return choo-choo to L.A.

9:45pm: And here we are back home. A full, cultural day indeed!
