Transfer: We will meet at 10.30 AM at the Los Angeles Union Station (Amtrak) and take the 11:10 AM train to San Diego. Arrival time in San Diego at 1:55 PM.

Experience this rarely performed opera featuring the international opera stars Andrew Greenan and Anja Harteros

The lushly scored music of Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier brings to life the story of the Marschallin, a beautiful neglected noblewoman. A torrid affair with a young lover brings her intense pleasure, but reinforces her fear of losing him, as well as her beauty and youth. International opera stars Andrew Greenan and Anja Harteros make their role debuts amidst the dazzling, 18th century opulence of the Austrian Empire.

The opera experience: Der Rosenkavalier!! We have arranged amazing tickets in the Mezzanine for you (first elevated area).

Backstage tour: See what goes on behind the curtain: 20 spaces have been reserved for a private backstage tour prior to the performance. Please let me know when you sign-up if you’d like to join us for the tour.

Optional extra – Cast party: Get up-close and personal! The black tie Cast Party makes your trip to the opera an even more exciting experience. After the performance, in an intimate setting, a sumptuous dinner and open bar are provided and you’ll have the opportunity to meet and talk with cast members, the conductor, board members and opera staff.

Accommodation: We have reserved rooms at the gorgeous Westgate Hotel and have secured a special discounted theatre rate for the evening of April 9, 2011.  The Westgate is in immediate walking distance of the Civic Theatre.

Package includes: Your Amtrak Business Ticket, Opera Ticket, the Backstage Tour, and your Accommodation. Single occupancy $510; Double occupancy per person $410.  This rate includes a $100 tax deductible donation per person to The Opera League of Los Angles. If you would like to sign-up for the Cast Party, please add an additional $140.00 per person to your package amount.
